Our Team

BENOÎT PARNAUDEAU

Sailor for life, after his Mathematics degree he starts his career working at La Rochelle shipyard. He quickly becomes preparator and project manager for race sailing ship construction. He actually participates to several solo sailing races (Vendée-Globe, Route du Rhum, Transat 650, etc.) and sails more than 150 000 nautic miles of which 90 000 in sailing races.

Natural born entrepreneur, he’s been creating and managing companies for 17 years, including POLYACHT in 2015. His vision and expertise are the origin of EFTM project and his boat, Nacira, is his laboratory.

CHRISTOPHE MONNIER

First electrical technician, he quickly become a remote-control specialist and realize a 30 years career in nuclear power plants. His analyze, procedure, precision and ingenuity are both useful to maintain uranium transport robots and to follow his passion, sailing.

Sailing ship renovation, sailing regatta or just cruising, he follows his passion and anchors in Tahiti in 2016. He starts an electric/electronic install and repair business for sailing ships and meets Benoit Parnaudeau around a marina. They decide to become associates to offer a complete offer to Polynesian sailors.

His automation expertise and ingenuity conceived the filament winding machine as it is today.

NICOLAS LANCELIN

Representing the 4th generation to manage Corderie Lancelin, Nicolas Lancelin developed the company to make it an European leader and internationalize the activity opening a production unit in Australia (25% of the turnover in exportation).

Corderie Lancelin is a French leader in technical ropes market, especially in Dyneema, and brings a precious technical support to EFTM shrouds development.

JEAN PAGNY

Last to join the team, he has a double degree telecom engineer INSA / business engineer IMT Atlantique in 2010 and thrive in business development.

After a few years in sales and management including in an international context, he leaves France and settle down in Tahiti in 2017 after 18 months in Australia and New Zealand. Then he continues as a business manager before becoming consultant.
His friendship with Christophe Monnier leads him to become Polyacht associate and brings his development and management skills to the project.

Our Story

2015
Benoit Parnaudeau joins Tahiti

Polyacht adventure begins in 2015 when Benoit Parnaudeau set foot on Tahiti. This former solo sailing race skipper (Vendée Globe, Route du Rhum…) then offers his expertise to Polynesian sailors.

2016
Benoit meets Christophe

Looking for an alternative to stainless steel for his own ship, Benoit decides, following Nicolas Lancelin’s advices to build his shrouds and stays with Dyneema filament coiling. In the same time, he meets Christophe Monnier, automation engineer and sailing racer, to whom he explains the project. The two men then associate and create the first prototype of what will become, a few years later, EFTM shrouds and stays.

2016
Partnership with Lancelin rope factory

Discovering the first prototypes, Lancelin rope factory becomes shareholder to help develop the product line.

2020
Cocorig Project

Cocorig goal is to locally produce coconut fiber ropes to reduce plastic ropes impact on Polynesian soil and lagoons. The project receives an award during Tech4Island event.

2021
Product maturity

R&D is finalized with more than 300 tests, thank to BPI-FrenchTech funds. Jean Pagny joins the team to structure and develop the activity.

2022
Cocorig first step

The project enters its first phase, thanks to South Pacific Community and Polynesian Direction of Marine Resources support through “Protège” program financed by EU.

Sofidep becomes shareholder

Sofidep and BPI funds EFTM project to boost its development.

2022
Product launch

Tahiti is guest of honnor of 50th La Rochelle Grand Pavois, biggest “afloat” trade show in France where Polyacht introduces its shrouds and stays to the public.

The company also exhibits at METSTRADE, biggest marine trade show in Europe with Z-Spars mast manufacturer.

New workshop, recruitment, and partnership

New workshop inauguration, first employee recruitment and new partnership with Ino-Rope.
